Planitar, based in Kitchener, Ont., has expanded its iGuide camera and software platform—which captures and delivers immersive virtual tours and property data—with a new RVT add-on for three-dimensional (3-D) modelling in Autodesk Revit.

The add-on is intended to enhance efficiency for engineers and architects drafting and designing projects in Revit. The iGuide Planix camera system can capture data faster and more accurately than manual processes, enabling entire properties to be mapped in minutes, rather than hours. By combining photo documentation with light detection and ranging (lidar), the system takes thousands of measurements with each scan, in seconds, providing the necessary accuracy and detail needed by designers when planning renovations.

“The add-on offers a significant reduction in design process timelines and serves as an essential tool for translating physical spaces into practical 3-D computer-aided design (CAD) models,” says Alexander Likholyot, CEO and co-founder of Planitar.

The RVT add-on is available with iGuide Premium and priced based on square footage.
